Our Mission

Our mission is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children. We support our school and staff, and work to spread their message of Social Justice.

Partnership:

We work with Vestal’s leadership and staff to support students and families with our ideas and efforts. We work with community partners to identify and implement additional methods to support the community.

Equity and Support:

We dedicate our resources to helping every student. We understand that individual and systemic issues affect students’ learning. We actively support Vestal’s social justice efforts in identity, diversity, local action, social justice, and academic engagement.

Adaptive Learning:

Learning requires being open, humble, and ready for new ideas. Our community’s needs and resources are always changing. The Vestal PTA is committed to being flexible and working with Vestal and the Montavilla community to meet these changes.

Meet the 25/26 School Year Team

The Vestal PTA operates as part of the Oregon and National PTA networks. To meet basic requirements, we maintain a Board made up of at least a President, Secretary, and Treasurer. The Board helps coordinate the initiatives our PTA chooses to support and handles essential duties like facilitating meetings, recording notes, and managing finances. In addition to our general PTA meetings, the Board also meets monthly to plan and stay on track with ongoing efforts.

Member Responsibilities

There’s no one way to be involved—every bit of participation counts. Whether you're attending meetings, volunteering when you can, helping spread the word online, or simply staying in the loop via email or our website, your presence helps strengthen our school community. We value all forms of engagement and welcome involvement that works for your life and schedule.

Get Involved

There’s a place for everyone in the Vestal PTA—whether you have five minutes or a few hours. We welcome caregivers, teachers, family members, and community supporters of all kinds.

Ways to get involved:

  • Volunteer at events – Help with one-time activities like celebrations, fundraisers, or classroom support.

  • Join a committee – Contribute to ongoing projects like teacher appreciation, communications, or garden care.

  • Lead a new idea – Have a vision for something that could benefit Vestal? Let’s talk about how to bring it to life.

  • Stay connected – Attend meetings (or just read the recaps), share ideas, and stay informed via email or social media.

If you’re interested in jumping in or just want to learn more, reach out to us at vestalelementarypta@gmail.com—we’d love to hear from you.
