Discussed Garden updates:
Jake reviewed updated Garden plans
Jake reviewed the Garden update timeline: start in the main NW section, moving clockwise around the garden, deferring big updates that could be disruptive to Garden classes until the summer.
Kristen & Beth are participating the Ecomaker “Changemaker” fellowship program which will open up grant and volunteer opportunities for Eco-adjacent activities.
Local Tae Kwon Do gym to help with the Outdoor Classroom tree planting and would love to help with the Garden updates.
Discussed Pancake Breakfast in January:
Having those cooking pancakes in the gym would be nice
Hot chocolate was a hit last year
Will need lots of volunteers!
Discussed Walk Bus changes:
Jake and Rebecca will lead a walk bus on the west side of 82nd down 80th.
The route on the east side is changing to better accommodate the folks who participate.
Walk buses will be on Wednesdays for the east side, Thursdays for the west side.
Discussed a potential fundraiser with Burgerville:
Would receive 20% of sales from 5-8pm (Monday-Thursday), 2-6pm (Sunday).
Could have someone asking folks to say they want their money to go to Vestal (maybe distribute a pamphlet).
The fundraiser needs someone to drive it.
Rock, Paper, Soiree is going well with several folks taking active roles.
Reviewed what will happen around Ruby Bridges Day.
Discussed the end of SUN fall term.
8 Closing
The meeting was adjourned by Jake at 7:30pm. We hope to see everyone at our next PTA meeting on December 9th!
