Hello Vestal Families! 🐝
October was full of fun and connection: Walk & Roll Day had a great turnout, we loved seeing you all at the Threshold fundraiser, and a community care day brightened up our campus thanks to our dedicated volunteers (and their hardy rain gear). Now we’re heading into the coziest season with even more good stuff: wreaths, walks to school, and did we mention we’re going up, up up, it’s our moment??
That’s right, we can’t wait to gather for our next movie night, featuring K-Pop Demon Hunters! Please note: movie night will be Friday, November 21, not Thursday as we mistakenly said earlier. There will be pizza, friends, and maybe even a little…Soda Pop?! See below for details.
November is also when we host our teacher and staff potluck during conferences, as a way to say Thank You! to our amazing teachers for all the hard work they do! See more below.

🍕 Movie Night: K-Pop Demon Hunters
Friday, November 21, Doors at 5:30 PM, Movie at 6:00 PM. We’re thrilled to host our next family movie night featuring K-Pop Demon Hunters! Admission and popcorn are free as always, we will have pizza available for $1/slice, and other concessions to purchase as well. Please RSVP so we know how much to order: 👉 RSVP here
🌿 Wreath Sale: Support Vestal and Decorate Your Home
Wreaths are on sale now through November 20! Pick-up will be at school pick-up on Thursday, December 5 at 2:30 PM. All proceeds go toward supporting Vestal students, teachers, and community projects. Share with local family and friends!

📚 Book Fair & Bingo!
Save the date: the Vestal Book Fair is coming Monday, December 8 through Friday, December 12, from 2:30–5:30 PM in the school library! Book Fair Bingo boards will be coming home soon. Complete fun reading activities, fill out your board, and bring it to the Book Fair to get $5 toward any purchase, courtesy of the PTA.
💜 Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day – Thursday, November 14
Join students and families in honoring Ruby Bridges and her courage in integrating public schools. Walk, roll, or bike to school together and celebrate kindness, inclusion, and justice in our community. To learn more, click here.
🌼 Community Care Day Recap & Next One: Saturday, November 15
A huge thank you to the families who came out for October’s Community Care Day!
Though we were a small group, we made a big impact: clearing bags of weeds and trash, sprucing up the garden, and even unclogging a storm drain!
Our next Community Care Day will be Saturday, November 15, 10 AM – 12 PM.
We’ll have coffee, tea, and hot chocolate (thanks to new donations!) and are looking for a volunteer to help lead a kid activity - please email vestalelementarypta@gmail.com if you’re interested in being that volunteer! Let’s keep our school looking beautiful together!
🤗 Teacher Potluck
We all know our Vestal teachers and staff work long and hard all year round, and this is especially true during conferences, when they stay late and see so many families back to back! As one way to say thank you, we have a tradition of providing a potluck lunch for teachers the days of conferences. See more information, and sign up below!
Community Food Resources ❤️
Vestal Food Support Drive
We’re collecting shelf-stable food and pantry staples to support Vestal families through the season. Bring items to the donation box near the front door starting November 4th. Your donations go directly to our school community—every item makes a difference! Please ensure all food is sealed, labeled, and not expired.

November Volunteer Opportunities 💪
Community Care Day
Saturday Nov. 15 | 10:00 - 12:00 | Vestal Garden and Grounds
Come keep our school beautiful, and get the garden ready for winter! These events are always fun, and even more so when lots of folks show up for an hour or two to pitch in together! If you’re interested in leading kids in their own garden project during this time, please reach out to vestalelementarypta@gmail.com.
PTA Clothing Center
Monday, Nov. 17 | 9:30am–1:30pm | Marshall HS
Each PPS school sends volunteers to the district’s clothing closet twice a year and this is Vestal’s time! Volunteers can be parents, grandparents, or community members. Find more info and sign up here: PPS Clothing Center.
Movie Night

Teacher Conference Potluck!
Nov. 24 & 25
