2 Welcome
Meeting convened at 6:35 by President Jake.
3 Minutes
Minutes from the last General Meeting, held January 13th, were accepted without amendment.
4 Principal Update
Sabrina was absent, no update.
5 Treasurer’s Report
Wreath sale went well: $4600 gross, more net than last year
Commentary on Wreath sale: Vendor was Mt. Hood Wreath Company, the wreaths weren’t done when we arrived for pick up, but overall was a good experience and would recommend using them again.
Pancake Breakfast did a little better than break even
The book fair went very well, brought in around $1300 for the school.
Jake spoke to the principal donors of the covered play area fund, and discussed re-appointing the funds. Will continue to discuss.
6 Continuing Business
Discussed how to spend the $500 food security funds.
Implementation ideas ranged from:
Make boxes of supplies that we give out
Gift cards to grocery stores (would need to go through Ms. Em)
Donate to Friday Fresh Food markets
Backpacks that go home w/ kids similar to a program IRCO runs
Gift cards would be the best way to get families what they actually want/need.
Many really like the idea of following the market model that allows us to follow something that is already successful.
Folks also like the idea of doing something to bridge a break period, e.g. over Spring Break or the last week of the school year.
7 Open Discussion
The derelict house next to the school is becoming a problem again. The owners have until April to begin construction on it and if they do not we will likely push that the City take action.
8 Closing
The meeting was adjourned by Jake at 7:30pm. We hope to see everyone at our next PTA meeting on February 10th!
